To commemorate Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Cypress Bay High School will be hosting MSD: Week of Service and Love from February 8-11th, 2021.  We encourage students to get involved & participate in our community service project which helps 3 local organizations:  Humane Society of Broward County, Broward Outreach Center and Harvest Drive.

​All activities will be conducted AT HOME and must be dropped off at our contactless, drive-thru collection day - Thursday, February 11th (3:30pm - 6:30pm) in the CB Bus Loop.  This is the ONLY collection day!

Students can participate in 1, 2 or all 3 activities while earning up to 24 service hours.  Please see details below to find out how you can participate in one or more activities!

Humane Society:    T-shirt Dog Toys

Find 3 old t-shirts in your house.  Follow the below tutorial video and make up to 3 dog toys which will be donated to the Humane Society of Broward County.

** 2 service hours per toy (max 3 toys)

Harvest Drive:  Toiletry Kits


Create and package a toiletry kit to be donated to Harvest Drive and local families in need.  Each kit must include:
  • 1 Shampoo (12oz or larger)
  • 1 Conditioner (12oz or larger)
  • 1 Toothbrush (in original packaging)
  • 1 Toothpaste
  • 1 Body Wash/Bar of Soap (bar must be in original packaging)
  • 1 Deodorant
**  All items must be placed inside a 1 gallon or 3 gallon ziplock bag

** 1 toiletry max

To prepare for collection day, please follow the below instructions:
  • Get your items ready!  Scroll up and review each item's instructions to ensure your item(s) are ready to go!
  • Complete & print the Collection Form.  You must have this form with you when dropping off your item(s)
  • Bring your item(s) & collection form to the CB Bus Loop on Thursday 2/11 between 3:30pm - 6:30pm.

** Please note this will be the ONLY COLLECTION DAY!

Do I have to participate in all 3 activities?
  • No!  You can participate in 1, 2 or all 3!
Is there a max to how many dog toys I can make?  Or toiletry kits I can make?
  • YES!  Each activity has a max amount.  Please see each activity above to see the max.
  • Students who donate above the max will not receive additional service hours.
  • The max amount of hours received by 1 student is 24 service hours.  (if they participated in all 3 activities)
Do I have to drop off my items on the specific Collection Day?
  • Yes!  There is ONLY 1 collection day!  (Thursday, February 11th 3:30-6:30pm in the CB Bus Loop)
  • Students who can not make the above date, can send their items with another person to drop off on the collection day.
What if I cannot make the Collection Day?
  • This is the ONLY one collection day.  Students who cannot make it must sent their items with another person to be dropped off during the specific collection window.
How do I receive my service hours after Collection Day?
  • You will turn in the Collection Form during the collection process
  • SGA will submit the hours directly to Guidance.  Students do NOT need to send anything to Guidance.
  • Please allow a few weeks for hours to be entered.
